Extended Weierstrass Transformation Method for Nonlinear Evolution Equations

Abstract: An extended Weierstrass transform method with computerized symbolic computation is used for constructing a class of new exact solutions of nonlinear evolution equations in terms of the Weierstrass elliptic function. The validity and reliability of the method are tested by its application to three nonlinear evolution equations arising in mathematical physics, namely, the (2+1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup-Kupershmidt system, the Whitham-Broer-Kaup equations and (2+1)-dimensional Gardner equation. It is shown that the proposed method provides a very effective and powerful mathematical tool for solving nonlinear evolution equations.
