Numerical Simulation of the Squeezing Flow between Two Infinite Plates by Means of the Modified Variational Iteration Method with an Auxiliary Parameter

Abstract: In this study, we investigate an axisymmetric Newtonian fluid squeezed between two parallel plates. Variational Iteration Method (VIM) and Modified Variational Iteration Method (MVIM) are used to solve the nonlinear differential equation analytically. In MVIM, we use an auxiliary parameter , that provides us with a simple way to control the convergence region. Comparing the obtained numerical results with those by the homotopy analysis method reveals that MVIM is very effective and reliable.
