Frequency Analysis of Nonlinear Oscillators with Rational Restoring Force via He’s Energy Balance Method and He’s Variational Approach

Abstract: In this paper, He's Variational Approach (HVA) and He's Energy Balance Method (HEBM) are employed to solve the nonlinear oscillators with rational restoring forces of the displacement. A frequency analysis is carried out and the relationship between the angular frequency and the initial amplitude is obtained in an analytical form. Excellent agreement of the approximate frequencies and periodic solutions with the exact ones is demonstrated and it will be shown that the relative error for the approximate frequency is negligible.
