Rotational Effects on Rayleigh Wave Speed in Incompressible Orthotropic Elastic Solid

Abstract: Secular equation for surface waves in rotating incompressible orthotropic material is obtained. Results for non-rotating material are also discussed. It is observed that surface wave in the material does not exist if frequency of rotation exceeds a certain limit. The secular equations for surface waves in rotating incompressible transversely isotropic and isotropic materials are also deduced.
